Visual Communications Designer
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and produce presentation decks for client pitches, speaking engagements, media briefings, and internal strategy sessions
- Create infographics, data visualizations, and visual summaries that make complex information accessible and shareable
- Develop sales and marketing collateral including conference posters, one-pagers, sell sheets, fact sheets, and event signage
- Adapt and extend client brand guidelines into new formats and contexts, ensuring visual consistency across deliverables
- Build and maintain reusable visual templates and toolkits for recurring PR deliverables
- Collaborate directly with account teams and clients to understand objectives, refine creative briefs, and present design concepts
- Support investor relations and corporate communications materials as needed, including earnings decks and annual report graphics
- Manage multiple concurrent design projects across different clients and timelines while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
- Design social media graphics and visual assets for client channels, campaigns, and announcements
- Contribute to creative brainstorms and proactively identify opportunities to elevate the visual quality of client work
- Coordinate with the creative services team on projects that span PR and creative scopes
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional design experience, ideally in an agency, consultancy, or in-house communications environment
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in presentation design, information design, and marketing collateral
- Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator
- Expert proficiency in presentation tools including PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides
- Strong typographic sensibility and an eye for layout, hierarchy, and visual clarity
- Ability to translate complex or technical information into clean, compelling visual narratives
- Comfort working within established brand systems and adapting guidelines to new formats
- Client-facing communication skills with the ability to present concepts, incorporate feedback, and advocate for good design
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage your own workload across multiple projects with minimal oversight
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Preferences
- Motion graphics or light animation skills (e.g., After Effects, Lottie) for social or event content
- Experience with data visualization tools or principles
- Experience with print production and vendor coordination for large-format or event materials
- Background or strong interest in emerging technologies
- Familiarity with the venture capital ecosystem and startup communications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field
