Vice President, Marketing

Role & Responsibilities

HAUS is hiring a VP of Marketing to lead the digital function across client work and run the agency's own marketing. Today our two core services are social management and content marketing. The VP of Marketing's job is to make both best-in-class and build the department out from there into community, events, and other emerging digital marketing channels. You'll own how HAUS itself shows up in the world, too.

The person who does this well is deeply fluent in B2B marketing. They know how to reach the narrow, high-value audiences deep tech companies care about (e.g., the three hundred people who buy a chip tool or the twenty program managers inside a specific DoD office) not just the broad categories around them. They think in ecosystems rather than channels, have scaled teams before, and spot where new revenue lines sit under the marketing umbrella.

In this role, you'll report directly to the CEO and partner with the VPs of PR, Creative, and our Head of Studio on larger integrated accounts.

Running the department

  • Lead the digital marketing function across social, content marketing, paid media, and emerging owned channels.
  • Own the department's vision, structure, staffing model, capacity planning, and contribution to agency P&L.
  • Manage the Social Media Director and Content Marketing Director today; build and lead the Directors of community, lifecycle, and emerging owned channels as we expand, and the Directors of the new service lines we stand up. Coach them on strategy, team, and career.
  • Own senior hiring and design the org as we scale.
  • Set the culture and the bar: craft, judgment, speed, and client trust.
  • Represent the department on the agency's leadership team.

Leading client work

  • Serve as the senior digital marketing advisor to founders, CEOs, and leadership teams at our most important clients.
  • Guide strategy across the full arc of a client's growth: pre-launch narratives for startups finding their first customers, launch strategies that create a category, executive positioning for the people driving them, and the scale motions and brand building that take a company past product-market fit.
  • Design audience strategies for narrow, high-value targets the specific analysts, program managers, scientists, engineers, operators, buyers, or policymakers each client needs to reach.
  • Lead the digital response for our highest-stakes moments such as major launches, crises, media cycles, and reputation events.
  • Personally shape the highest-stakes work like founder narratives, category-defining content, and brand-forming pieces.
  • Partner with account leads on client health, growth, and satisfaction across the digital portfolio.
  • Set the editorial bar across everything the department publishes, and ensure our voice comes through consistently.

Running HAUS marketing

  • Own HAUS's own marketing function: positioning, brand, growth, thought leadership, demand, and distribution.
  • Set the strategy for how HAUS shows up across our website, social, newsletter, podcast presence, events, and industry PR.
  • Turn our client work, POVs, and internal expertise into content and campaigns that build the HAUS brand.
  • Partner with agency leadership on pricing narrative, category positioning, and competitive differentiation.
  • Build the pipeline of inbound interest that supports new business, and own the measurement and attribution model behind it.
  • Shape HAUS's employer brand and the content that supports senior recruiting.

Building the practices

  • Set POVs and standards for our social practice: platforms, paid social, executive positioning, community, listening.
  • Set POVs and standards for our content marketing practice: editorial strategy, SEO, long-form, , podcasts, and distribution.
  • Identify and build out emerging owned channels: newsletters (Substack, Beehiiv), YouTube, podcasts, communities (Discord, Slack), and emerging formats.
  • Build out our events and field marketing motion: industry presence at major conferences, HAUS parties, and client-facing events (e.g., media dinners).
  • Set the standard for how the department uses AI across the workflow without sacrificing the voice and judgment that make our work stand out.
  • Make the practices work as a system: social pulls from long-form, long-form seeds community, paid accelerates what organic validates, community informs listening, listening informs strategy.
  • Spot and build new service offerings for the agency: paid as a managed service, client newsletter and podcast programs, community and executive LinkedIn programs, measurement and attribution as a service. Contribute to major pitches and shape how the practice is packaged and priced.
  • Own how the department measures success by connecting reporting to real business outcomes: pipeline, brand consideration, media impact, executive positioning, hiring, and category creation.
  • Represent HAUS externally through speaking, writing, industry participation, and relationships across the deep tech ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in B2B digital content, communications, or marketing, ideally with meaningful time on both the agency and brand sides.
  • Deep fluency in B2B go-to-market across stages: pre-launch and early traction for technical startups finding their first customers, launches that create a category, and the growth motions for companies with product-market fit that need to scale demand, reputation, and category leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach narrow, specialized audiences not just large general ones. ABM, intent data, community-level targeting, segment-of-one creative, whatever gets the right fifty people to pay attention.
  • Strong analytics skills and the ability to demonstrate ROI to a client. Measurement is as important as strategy here: you can set up attribution, build the dashboards, and tell the story of impact in the terms CEOs and CFOs act on.
  • A commercial instinct for turning marketing capability into new service offerings and new revenue.
  • Direct experience managing Directors and running multi-discipline teams.
  • Genuine fluency across both social and long-form content: you can set standards, edit, and lead in both.
  • Working command of paid media to run it across our channels today, hire for it, and keep its standards.
  • Track record of building or scaling a marketing or digital function.
  • Experience owning brand marketing for a company (in-house or agency-side) not just executing on channels.
  • Executive-level advisory experience with founders, CEOs, or C-suite clients.
  • Must love deep tech.

Preferences

  • Experience running the marketing or digital function at a fast-growing B2B tech company.
  • Experience launching or productizing a new service line, product, or revenue stream inside a marketing org or agency.
  • Experience building a newsletter, podcast, YouTube channel, or community from zero to real audience.
  • Experience shaping category-defining brand narratives.
  • Experience with marketing attribution and measurement at a company where the number actually had to be defended.
  • Familiarity with AI, aerospace, defense, biotech, climate, energy, semiconductor, quantum, or robotics ecosystems.
  • Experience contributing to or leading agency new business at the senior level.
  • A visible personal presence in the deep tech, marketing, or communications ecosystem.
  • Experience partnering closely with PR and creative leadership in an integrated agency environment.
