Social Media Manager
Role & Responsibilities
HAUS is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead our growing social media practice. This role sits at the center of how we deliver social work for clients and how we build the practice into a scalable, high-performing business line. You'll manage a team of Social Media Leads, own strategy for a portfolio of high-value client accounts, establish the systems and standards that let us grow without losing quality, and help shape where the practice goes next.
This is a player-coach role. You'll stay hands-on with strategy for your top accounts — advising founders, guiding launches, and shaping executive positioning — while also managing people, building processes, contributing to new business, and partnering with agency leadership on how we scale.
You'll work closely with PR, content, creative, and account leadership to ensure social is fully integrated into how HAUS delivers for clients, and you'll report to agency leadership.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Practice Leadership & Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop the social media team, starting with two Social Media Leads: onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career growth.
- Review team work and provide strategic guidance to ensure consistently high-quality client deliverables.
- Lead training and knowledge sharing across the social team.
- Help define hiring needs, interview candidates, and build out the social organization as we grow.
- Manage team capacity, workload balancing, and account assignments.
Client Strategy & Advisory
- Lead social strategy for 4 high-value client accounts.
- Advise founders, executives, and client teams on thought leadership, platform strategy, reputation management, and executive communications.
- Partner with PR and Content teams to develop integrated communications strategies across earned, owned, and social.
- Guide clients through sensitive communications, major announcements, and high-visibility moments.
- Identify opportunities to expand and upsell client social programs.
Editorial & Quality Oversight
- Establish editorial standards across the social practice and review content for quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.
- Provide feedback on messaging, executive voice, creative assets, and platform optimization.
- Ensure complex technical subject matter is translated into compelling, accessible content.
- Maintain voice and standards consistency across company and executive social channels.
Operations & Process Development
- Build and continuously improve the systems, workflows, and documentation that support the social team.
- Develop scalable processes for content planning, approvals, publishing, reporting, and quality assurance.
- Evaluate and implement social media management, analytics, and listening tools.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and AI-enabled workflows where appropriate.
Practice Development & Business Development
- Help shape HAUS's long-term social media offering as the agency grows.
- Identify new service opportunities and capabilities that strengthen HAUS's competitive advantage.
- Develop best practices, templates, training materials, and internal documentation.
- Partner with agency leadership on pricing, scoping, staffing, and service development for new business.
- Contribute to pitches, proposals, and RFPs when social is a meaningful component.
Analytics & Performance Tracking
- Oversee reporting quality across client accounts.
- Track team performance, client satisfaction, and the operational health of the social practice.
- Analyze content performance, audience growth, and industry trends to inform strategic recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve results through experimentation and continuous optimization.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with PR, Content, Design, and Account teams to ensure social is fully integrated into client work.
- Provide strategic social input on new business conversations and participate in proposals as needed.
- Partner with agency leadership on hiring plans, team growth, and resource planning.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in social media, digital communications, or PR with meaningful time in an agency or fast-paced brand environment.
- Direct experience managing social media strategists, coordinators, or similar direct reports.
- Track record of leading social strategy for multiple client accounts or brands simultaneously.
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment: you can review and elevate the team's work.
- Deep platform fluency across especially across LinkedIn and X/Twitter, with additional familiarity around YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, and Substack, with a strong POV on how each fits into B2B and founder strategy.
- Proven ability to translate complex or technical topics into content that lands with both insider and adjacent audiences.
- Experience advising founders, executives, or senior client stakeholders on social strategy and reputation.
- Fluency with social listening and analytics tools (Meltwater, Sprout, Brandwatch, or equivalents).
- Strong operator instincts: you build systems, not just outputs.
- Sound judgment on sensitive topics, crisis moments, and high-visibility events.
- Basic design literacy and comfort with Canva or similar tools.
- Self-starter comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Must love deep tech.
Preferences
- Experience building or scaling a social practice at an agency, or a social function in-house.
- Experience contributing to or leading new business pitches.
- X/Twitter-native experience: you understand the platform's culture, how virality works, and how founders build there.
- Familiarity with AI, aerospace, defense, biotech, climate, energy, semiconductor, quantum, or robotics ecosystems.
- Experience with B2B creator or influencer programs.
- Experience with social-first video: hooks, editing, packaging.
- Experience implementing AI or automation to improve team workflows.
- Experience building or advising communities on Reddit, Discord, or niche forums.
