Account Manager

Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as day-to-day client contact for growth-stage accounts, managing relationships, expectations, and communications flow
  • Execute comprehensive PR strategies developed in collaboration with PR Directors and Account Supervisors
  • Manage and mentor PR Senior Account Executives and Account Executives, delegating tasks and ensuring quality delivery
  • Lead media relations activities including proactive pitching, relationship building, and securing placements in target publications
  • Draft and edit press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, blog posts, and other PR materials
  • Develop and maintain media lists, tracking coverage, and identifying new outlet and reporter opportunities
  • Coordinate media interviews, briefings, and speaking opportunities for client executives
  • Monitor news cycles and industry trends to identify timely pitching opportunities and potential risks
  • Prepare regular status reports, coverage analyses, and strategic recommendations for clients
  • Support strategic planning sessions and contribute ideas for campaigns and initiatives
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget execution
  • Build relationships with technology and business media contacts through consistent outreach and engagement
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams on integrated campaigns and content development
  • Participate in new business pitches and lead generation

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of public relations experience at a PR agency, with at least 1 year in an account management or leadership capacity
  • Proven experience working with B2B technology startups, particularly in deep tech or frontier technology sectors
  • Strong media relations skills with established contacts in technology and business media
  • Demonstrated success securing coverage in top-tier and vertical technology publications
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities across multiple PR formats
  • Experience managing direct reports or mentoring junior team members
  • Deep understanding of startup communications including funding announcements, product launches, and thought leadership
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Client management experience including status reporting, expectation setting, and relationship building
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives
  • Proficiency with media monitoring tools and PR measurement platforms• Must love deep tech

Preferences

  • Experience supporting scaleups during major milestones such as product roll outs and Series B+ funding announcements
  • Established relationships with reporters at major technology and business outlets
  • Background in or strong interest in emerging technologies
  • Experience with analyst relations or industry award programs
  • Crisis communications or issues management experience
  • Track record developing executive thought leadership programs
  • Familiarity with content marketing and integrated communications approaches
  • Previous experience at a specialist or boutique PR agency
