Account Coordinator

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to account teams across multiple client accounts
  • Assist with media monitoring, tracking coverage, and compiling daily/weekly news clips for clients
  • Help maintain and update media contact databases, ensuring accurate reporter information and beat assignments
  • Support the drafting and editing of basic PR materials including media alerts, fact sheets, and background documents
  • Coordinate logistics for media interviews, briefings, and events including scheduling and material preparation
  • Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, competitors, and industry trends to support campaign planning
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of media lists for targeted outreach campaigns
  • Help prepare client status reports, coverage summaries, and presentation materials
  • Manage filing systems, project documentation, and shared resources to keep teams organized
  • Support social media monitoring and reporting for client accounts
  • Participate in team meetings, taking notes and tracking action items
  • Assist with new business efforts including research, competitive analysis, and pitch deck preparation
  • Learn PR fundamentals through hands-on experience and mentorship from senior team members
  • Handle administrative tasks such as expense tracking, meeting coordination, and calendar management
  • Contribute to agency initiatives and internal projects as needed

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or related field; relevant internships considered
  • Strong interest in technology and startup ecosystem
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive attitude with eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Strong research skills and ability to synthesize information quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Comfortable learning new tools and platforms
  • Team player with positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks

Preferences

  • PR agency internship experience
  • Coursework or academic focus in public relations, journalism, or communications
  • Exposure to technology sector through internships, coursework, or personal interest
  • Basic understanding of media landscape and news cycles
  • Social media savvy with understanding of digital platforms
  • Experience with media monitoring tools (Meltwater, Cision, etc.)
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday, Trello, etc.)
  • Previous customer service or client-facing experience
  • Interest in emerging technologies and innovation
  • Strong writing portfolio from academic or extracurricular work
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
